I’ve already dabbled some in spectroscopic porn and while it can deliver a real sense of 3D nudity, it comes with side-effects such as eye strain and head aches. Alternatively you can combine the two images into a single anaglyph image, but I’ve looked everywhere and I can’t find a single pair of those blue/red glasses. I am now convinced that this is the wrong way to go.
As it turns out, Nvidia has already developed the technology we need for authentic 3D smut. It’s essentially a monitor coupled with a pair of glasses. The monitor will alternately render one frame for each of your eyes while the glasses will shut and open its lenses respectively. It does this 120 times a second, or 60Hz for each eye. At that speed your eyes are unable to notice the constant shutting and opening of the lenses and your brain is fooled into thinking you’re looking at a real three-dimensional object.
The beauty in this is in its simplicity. This is not exactly a novel idea. The difference is in the price. It’s finally cheap enough for anyone to get. Today. Okay, $600 is a lot of money but that price will shrink with time, as adoption increases.
The best part is that this will work with existing DirectX-compatible games. This means that everything is fair game, even japanese sex games!
I really hope this picks up. It could lend a well-needed hand to the somewhat suffering PC gaming market and obviously make sex games much more enjoyable.
