I’ve conciously been cutting down on commission work recently. One of the reasons for that is what I’m officially announcing now: I’m writing a hentai game. *Cue canned applauds*
A few of you might already know about about this from my various forum posts, but now it’s officially official. Here are the details:
The yet unnamed game is a typical visual novel type hentai game. The story isn’t totally fleshed out, but it revolves around a girl that’s not very cute but possesses an inner beauty. She’s doesn’t have many friends and usually spends her time playing with herself. Cupid, the god of erotic love pities this girl and decides to pay her a visit, granting her three wishes.
The game will run on any Windows XP (and most likely Vista) machine with DirectX 9. It will be a completely free download for anyone who wants to play it. The game will be created using a visual novel maker that I’m also developing, and that tool will be made available along-side the game for free to whomever wants to create their own stories.
Needless to say the game will feature a ton of my art so if you’re a fan of my work I highly recommend you keep an eye out for it =D

YES! Even if I had to pay, I’d buy it. I’m guessing you’ll make some for moneyz in the future?
I’ve gathered quite a number of fans now so I’m sure I’d be able to make a butt load of moneys.. but I already have a “real” job and this has never been about making cash. This is mostly a way for me to combine my two passions, programming and art.
This game won’t be very long, but I plan on doing a few of these. And hopefully other artists can join in on the fun as soon as the visual novel maker takes shape.

I still have a few commissions coming up, but it’s true that my time will be even more limited now. I feel like I really need to do some art of my own to grow as an artist.
I looked around for similar tools earlier and sadly there aren’t any real useful ones. The most successful one seem to be Ren’py, but it’s just a text-editor for programming Python and I didn’t find that very user friendly.
Your some kind of magical hentai god, aren’t you? But will the novel editor require any kind of coding, and if so, what kind?
Hehe. I’m no god, I just have an interesting hobby.
Regarding coding. Mostly no. You should be fine with just the editor. It’s a point and click interface and you set up events and conditions using contextual “Actions” instead of code.
But if you want to extend the functionality of the game, maybe by putting RPG-elements and combat in it, then you’ll need to write scripts for that.
The scripting language I’ve chosen is called Angelscript, which is very similar to C++. I’ve aimed this functionality for people who are already familiar with programming.
