This third installment of the sketchcast shows the process of how I color my lineart. As usual I had to fit this into 30 minutes so I had to work fast (sloppy), also since this is a flash video the colors look a bit dodgy. I’ll post the finished picture for you view later once it’s finished.
I hope you find it interesting and/or entertaining. Click the image above to view it.

While watching, please read the notes posted after the break:
Part 1
[0:00] I pick a good skin color and fill a large area around the body. This method hinders the watercolor tool from picking up the white in the background and it lets me be “sloppy” without worries.Â
Note: So far I’m only using two colors.
[4:48] I create an addition layer and spray on highlights.
Note: See how fast and easy that was? Addition layers rules!
Â
Part 2
[0:00] Nipples.
[1:53] Face.
[3:34] I chose a blue eye color but changed my mind. Since I was working in a seperate layer it’s super easy to change it by shifting the hue.
[4:47] Hair.
[6:35] Once I’m done with the hair I erase all the excess color.
Notes: This takes some time compared to the relatively quick coloring process, but it’s worth it. The colored background is just for better visibilty. I’m making some errors here. (I was trying to hurry).
Part 3
[1:17] Just a color trick using a gradient overlay.
[1:45] Ears.
[4:00] For contrast I use a third darker color at a few places.
[5:27] Erasing again.
[8:43] This is how it looks with all layers turned back on.
I stopped here. I left the the tail and other parts because I would only repeat the same process over again and that wouldn’t serve any real purpose for this video.

Great job. It was all very informative, as well as sexy.
Yay! Finally! X3
